with three days left in the month, I have come to the realization, I will not be meeting the challenge. Dang it. I really, really wanted to build a sofa table. I still plan to get it done, but not before the end of the month. Frowny face. It was looking a bit doubtful that I would get it done anyway, but there was still hope, then I pulled a muscle in my back. Standing up straight is about as much challenge as I can see myself taking on in the next couple of days.
I've not been a complete slacker the whole month. We've accomplished lots in the apartment, and they have actually moved in. I'm really excited about how it all came together. It's much roomier than any of us expected.
I'll go into more detail in another post, for now I'll just share a few pictures.
We aren't 100% finished, there are pictures to hang, some touch up painting to do... minor details at this point. For now, the girls are happy to call it home sweet home.
What a sweet mama you are, and what lucky girls you have.

Ohmygosh Autum -- it looks awesome! I LOVE the wood wall at the end. And the dandelion art over the stairwell. AND that fabulous bookcase backed up to the stairwell -- what a cool idea. I'll bet the girls are going to love it!
Sorry about your back -- I hope it's feeling better soon!

Thank you Anna. We are so happy with the room/apartment. Its small, but not cramped and once we get clothes storage figured out, it will be perfect. The bed has huge drawers, so Alyssa can fit all of her folded clothes in the bed, but we have to come up with something for hanging. The actual attic is behind the barn door, and for now she will be keeping some things in there.
The dandelion wall art and the book case were both pinterest inspired. Love me some pinterest!

Thank you Elaine. It was one of those crazy, out of the blue pulled muscles. I bent down to lift something that wasnt even very heavy and bam! Mitch has a lot of trouble with pulled back muscles, so I just did what the PT has instructed him to do. Ice and motrin. He has something in a can that you spray on. I cant remember the name, something with freeze in the name I believe.
We are tickled with the apartment. It took longer than I had hoped, but we are so pleased with the outcome.
Have a wonderful Monday!

Thanks Cindy. It is cozy, but not cramped. I was worried about how it would feel once all the furniture was in.
The back is getting better, Im not as young as I once was ; ) But Im kinda glad I the sofa table got put off. My husband has started welding. Hes kind of like me when it comes to tinkering but he likes to work on cars instead of rooms. With his new skills, I hope to convince him to weld me a table base, like some Ive seen at Restoration Hardware and Ill age some wood to go on top.
Maybe Ill get it done by next January.

You sure have done a lot with your apartment. Everything looks warm and welcoming! It’d be very comfy to just lie down on that white sofa. And it seems like your dog loves to stay there as well. ;)

You have chosen a simple yet elegant theme for your apartment. The white hue of the entire place and its cabinets make the place a comfy place to live in. Even your dog found an excellent resting place in your room.
