Once I start, I can't seem to stop.
At least it's a cheap addiction.
And they're pretty.
This was yesterday, as the sun was going down.
And my view this morning as I had my coffee.
I love that each one is a surprise.
Unfolding is like opening a little present.
I never know what they are going to look like,
although, now that I've made a few dozen,
I've learned where to cut to get diferent effects.
Go get yourself some white paper and scissors.
If you need help with the folding and cutting,
here are a few different tutorials.
Just know, making paper snowflakes is like eating potato chips,
you can't stop at just one.
They're beautiful, Autum! I made a lot of these last year, ironed and starched them, and - after Christmas - carefully saved them in an envelope. Do you think I can find them this year? I have no idea where I put that envelope! I may have to make more - fancier ones using the tutorials you linked to.

I haven't done these in forever - yours are gorgeous! Now I simply must make some myself!

My children made a ton for a church Christmas program I organized. I kept them all. Maybe I should hang them around. Seems terrible to toss their hard work. (BTW, yours are GORGEOUS!!!)

Thank you Lera. Definitely hang them. Im really enjoying mine. I used invisible thread and some little sticky dots I had- not sure what they are called, just little white foam dots that are sticky one both sides. That said, I need to come up with something else, probably just scotch tape. Ive had to rehang several.

Thank you Jessica. Making them is a little like therapy. Especially during this busy time of year. It can be very calming to just sit and play with paper.

Awwww, Autum these look so pretty. I can almost see that they would be relaxing to make. The picture showing your view in the morning was absolutely beautiful.

I hope you find them Rachel. I didnt take the time to iron mine, I probably should. Making them fancy is not hard at all. And after all, its just paper.

Thank you Shannon. Making snowflakes is so relaxing. I completely zoned out and forgot about how messy the house was and just enjoyed snipping away. I highly recommend it!

You reminded me of my favorite winter websites: http://snowdays.popularfront.com/ You can make many snowflakes here as well.. and send messages to the world of snowflake crafters. And another one here, although I find this one a bit harder to use.

One of the simplest & best traditions of the season. I just sat down with my mom & daughter & snipped out a few this past weekend. I hope that you are enjoying this holiday season!

I love snowflakes, since you can keep them up from Nov to March! When I was in first year university, and living in residence, I hung a ton of snowflakes one day, and the window cling ones too, while my room mate was out. Everyone loved it! Probably the only benefit of the t-bar type ceiling, LOL!

I love that you all are always so motivated.....I have been reading your blog for years and I got sad when you stopped blogging for so long. I just started my new blog that you popped into, I used to write the blog "My army life with 6". I wrote to you a while back when your grandbaby passed away. I was the one that my SIL has Turners.
