Hot. I bet I say that word no less than 25 times a day.
It is so stinkin' hot. Like sticking you head in an oven hot. Hotter than, well, you get the idea.
In an effort not to heat up the house any more than necessary, most dinners are cooked on the grill these days.
Not sure if these are new or just new to me.
I don't usually like frozen green beans, but these are different, and we're going for quick and easy here.
Follow the directions on the bag, just microwave in the bag for five minutes.
Carefully open the bag and pour the cooked green beans into a bowl.
Drizzle on about 2 or 3 tbs. of olive oil.
Throw in some garlic. About one largish clove or two small ones. I use a garlic press or just chop it up very fine.
Sprinkle on a little salt. Or a lot, it's up to you.
Give it a stir to coat everything well.
Put a sheet of aluminum foil on the grill and place the beans on a single layer.
I do this once the meat I'm cooking is about half done. Move them around to keep from burning. Just let them get a little brown here and there.
Put them back in the bowl and you're done.
Last night I did the same thing with brussell sprouts. The same Birds Eye Steamfresh brand.
I seasoned them with olive oil, salt, parmesan cheese (just the cheap canned stuff) and a little lemon juice.
Attic progress~ we have stairs!
You are brilliant! Can't wait to try grilled green beans this week!

I never thought about grilling after microwaving. I'll have to try this, even though I can't bring myself to do it in the bag.

i put olive oil, garlic and lemon pepper. the kids gobble them up!

Yum and sitting here this morning at 5:30am they made me even hungrier than I was already. LOL I think the brussel sprouts sounded even better to me because I love those. Either would be awesome off the grill I bet from the yummy smoky flavor they'd get from the grill.
The stairs look great. LOVE the wood used on them too. It's a very pretty color and Bayleigh it just adorable showing them off. Too cute.

Thank you Vicki! The brussell sprouts were good, but I like the green beans better : )
We are going to stain the treads of the stairs and paint the risers. I think those are the correct terms. I cant wait to get the construction phase over so we can start the fun part.
Have a lovely day!!

We usually buy frozen veggies too, if not fresh, but Ive never liked frozen green beans. I guess like you said, they are squeaky. These taste like fresh green beans to me. This winter when we arent grilling everything, Ill try sauteing.
Have a wonderful day!!

Hi Lisa,
The beans are good before grilling, but even better after.
The bag is made especially for microwaving. You dont add any water, they just steam in the bag, making them taste very fresh. Not mushy or rubbery.
Ha, Im beginning to sound like a commercial. They arent paying me for my endorsement ; )
Have a great day!!

I hope this one goes through. Having trouble leaving comments for some reason. Anyway, I will have to try the brussel sprouts that way. My husband is a huge fan of them and he'll be happy to have them another way than roasted in the oven, I'm sure. I cannot believe how quickly the stairs went in. I'm going to enjoy posts on the new apartment. Oh, and that tomato pie looks heavenly. I am going to try it this week.

Yay, it went through, finally!

I wonder what was going on with the comments. Hopefully it has been resolved.
The stairs went up in two days. With the heat they were short days too. Next up is some plumbing and electrical work.
