Like curtains. Curtains are happy, right? I think so. Some girls have a thing for shoes and purses, my thing is for curtains and rugs. And lamps. I love lamps.
But I digress, I am here to talk curtains today. Kitchen curtains.
I hear some of you saying, oh no she didn't. And to you, I say, oh yes I did.
I've received lots of nice comments on those IKEA curtains I had in the kitchen. I loved them too, but it was time for a change.
These aren't actually curtains. Well, they are now, but they started out as table cloths.
I lined them using white twin sheets.
You can find them here.
Thank you Michelle.

Thank you Sharly and yes, the other post was cathartic to write. Not feelings I'm proud of, but putting words with the feelings certainly helps.
Linens? Yes, love those too!

That is a fantastic idea. I hate how expensive curtain panels are, and I need them for almost all of the rooms in our house. Now I have a new place to look!

Hi Sarie,
Thank you! The chandelier was purchased at Lowes.

So cute and fun! Great idea. So...you took a round table cloth and turned it into long curtains? How many tablecloths did you use? Looks terrific!

In love with your curtains!! Also, I was wondering where you got your bay window curtain rod! I have 2 bay windows in our home and I have had a hard time finding some, other than the cheap white plastic ones (boo!).

Hi Vanessa!
The curtain rod is actually metal conduit pipe, purchased in the electrical section at Lowes. I posted about it here.

I love this idea and plan to do this to my bay window very soon. Where did you get the window shutters? I love those. We even have the same kitchen table! LOL
Posted by: Michele Aucoin | March 11, 2012 at 03:41 PM
Hi Michele. The shutters were a very lucky craigslist score. I got all three for $75 and they fit perfectly. I like that they cover the bottom of the windows but still allow me to see the back yard.
My table came from a thrift store. I love it, but it didn't look like that when I got it. I've always had a round table there, and round probably fits better, but when I saw this one, I had to get it.
