Had to get glasses. They aren't bifocals, apparently they don't call them that anymore, they are progressive lenses. Whatever.
I just want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares
I'll be right there with you soon, sister, with the "progressive" lenses. ;-)

"Progressive" a fancy word that your arms are too short for your eyes...not that you're getting older eyes...that is what my dentist (God Love Him) told me...LOL...now wasn't he a sweetheart to notice???

Very cool! I'm right there with ya. :o)

Boy when you hit 40 everything starts to go, doesnt it? I used to think it was crazy when I was young and my grandma asked me to thread a needle for her. The eye seemed huge to me. Threading was no problem. Now I understand.
How is Alison doing?

Shrinking arms, thats the problem!
It didnt help any that the eye doctor I saw was about 12. Not quite as bad as the when I went to the pulmonologist and he had a med student with him. The med student did his assessment first. His positive response to my answers was sweet. You know, surfer dude sounding lingo. It took all I had not to laugh. How can I trust my health to someone who responds with sweet and happens to look like a hollister model? I wanted to get his number for my friends teenage daughter.

Progressive for my progressively down hill heading body : )

Whatever? you make 'em look good, as usual.
I had the biggest headache for weeks trying to get used to those things.
I pray you have no trouble and can give those arms a rest!
love ya!

Your glasses look wonderful. I've had to wear glasses since I was 9...and I love the style you chose. At least you don't need those old lines on them right?

At least you suit them. I had an awful time finding glasses for my face when I had to wear them for a few years. Then they gave me the all-clear and I haven't been back to have my eyes tested since. Hmm, that was a decade ago. Maybe I should make an apoointment...

appointment, even. That's not my eyesight - it's my typing, I promise

Hi Lynne! Thank you : )
My friend Kelli had a really difficult time getting used to hers too. Mine dont bother me, except when Im driving. I have to get used to moving my head so Im looking out the upper part, otherwise its all blurry.

My vision isnt really bad, but over the past year or so, I have definitely noticed a decline. Especially when it comes to hand sewing and things close up.
I probably tried on 50 pair before I settled on these and I still wasnt sure.
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Hi Chris.
Thank you! No they dont have lines. Im not sure exactly how these are supposed to differ from traditional bifocals, they do have different areas of focus. Looking straight ahead through the upper part is for distance, but when I look down to read or sew, the focus changes.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!!

They look good on you! I'm headed in the 'progressive' direction myself...

I'ts that 40th birthday thing, that's when I started wearing mine:(

I would do the same for my grandma, too. Now, I get my 15 year old to do it, if she's around. :o)
Alison is doing great! She just had surgery two days ago to repair her stomach. Apparently, she was born with it upside down? This was secondary surgery, but still pretty lengthy, it took longer to do this than her lungs. She should have come home today, but I've not heard an update yet. Thanks for checking on her.
Have a great week-end.

Autum you look darling. Seriously. My eyesight goes the other direction... Thread a needle? No problem. But driving at night is getting a bit sticky.
PS: your comments on the doctor(s) made me laugh. Seriously, how are we supposed to trust a doc when he looks barely old enough to date our daughters?? "Sweet."

Thank you Denise!
That interaction with Doogie Houser was so funny. Really, I had to try so hard not to snicker.
I hope you are doing well. How old is that little one now?
