We had about 20 people here for Thanksgiving. What do you think I was doing the Monday and Tuesday before? If you guessed cooking, you'd be wrong. Cleaning? Nope. Painting and hanging bead board wallpaper? BINGO!
On Wednesday I was making curtains and a coffee filter wreath.
Somewhere in there I also painted a thrift store light fixture, dressed it up with a pretty shade, installed it and hung some plates on the wall.
On Thursday, I was a cooking, cleaning fool. Thank goodness we didn't eat until 6.
I still need to come up with a Christmas Centerpiece for the table.
Cause I love a good before/after, here's the before.
Don't forget to link up your Silhouette and Cricut projects here, beginning Sunday at 8pm.
I'll be linking up at some of these parties.
You are simply amazing! You have a great sense of style and your energy to pull it off is admirable!

Thank you Bonnie. I am going to show this to my husband, because amazing isnt what he calls me when I get into these decorating frenzies ; )
The energy is usually short lived, so I run with it when it strikes.
I hope you are enjoying this holiday season!

Thank you! I love the table too. The table was made by my great grandmothers father and the bench by my great grandfathers father. So, they are pretty special.

This is why I love you....I would do something stupid...uhhhh I mean, last minute, like that to!!! You are awesome and pulled it off AND it looks incredible. Good job girl! The new light fixture is fabulous!! And your mantel from your previous post? Beautiful! The white and silver with some twinkle lights thrown in looks so calm, serene and classic. You rock!

I love how it's higher than just halfway. It makes it so interesting to look at. Good job!

Thank you Alexson. I originally planned to put a small ledge. Thats why I went that high, but decided I didnt want another thing to dust, so we just finished it with a chair rail type trim.

Love, love, love that wallpaper! Do you think it would be possible to hang it on a textured wall?
Posted by: Nancy L. | December 08, 2010 at 02:28 PM
you are just so crafty with your house i absolutely love what you have done with it.

Hi Nancy,
I think it depends on how heavily the wall is textured. If I remember they advertise that it is a solution for rough walls, but I think any raised areas would be evident.
I will say, if you decide to try it, Home Depot sells the kind I used online. Lowes also sells a beadboard wallpaper, but it is thinner. I wouldnt use that for textured walls.
Good Luck!

Thank you Sharly. I am happy with the light too. Now. I say now because it took some tweaking. The original shade I used had some dents that drove me crazy. I bought it at a thrift store when I got the fixture. It was still covered in plastic, but had a few dents I didnt notice till after it was up. They glowed when the light was on. I ended up spending more than I typically would for a shade, but since I got the pendent portion for a couple of dollars, I didnt feel too bad : )

Quite the busy little bee!
I think it looks fabulous.
I love the table, bench and chairs against the white bead board and side pieces...looks lovely.

Thank you Pat. The table is very special to me and it just didnt stand out much when the room was aqua. I wanted to tone things down so that the table would be more of a focal point- so you compliment really makes me smile!

You are my kinda gal! I would much rather be doing fun, creative, decorating stuff than cooking! And the results are fantastic!
