It may not seem like much to you, but let's look back at where we began.
An improvement, don't you think?
I just want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares
Thank you LeeAnn. It doesnt look the same, thank goodness ;)

Thank you Lynne. I kept telling myself, this is something we will share meals and conversations together. It is where I will help Bayleigh with her homework. I wanted it to be special and I wanted it to last. I hope it will.

What a fantastic job. I wouldn't have thought to do the chairs blue but seeing them together they look amazing. I love your blog. You've really inspired me in my home remodeling/ decorating endeavors.

Oh, please dont let my experience scare you. It didnt have to be as bad as I made it. I should have been better prepared. Prep is the key!

Thank you Michelle, My original plan was for the chairs to match the table legs, but I just didnt like them that way. I had already painted my bar stools aqua and loved it. Since I had some paint left over I decided to give it a try and am very happy I did.

Gorgeous Autum! Did you purchase new paint for the chairs or did you mix something up?

Well done you!! Thats what I call a makeover. I love the aged effect and the colour matches your decor perfectly. It looks so bright and fresh. Now just don't get any ideas about changing it..ha ha

Love your color choice. Looks good together. I'm glad your hard work payed off.

Thank you Jenn. The paint on the chairs is Mediteranean Blue gloss spray paint from Lowes, Valspar. I toned down the brightness a bit with Valspar Decorative Effects antiquing glaze in Asphaltum. Just brushed on with a foam brush and rubbed off with a damp rag. It sort of dirty-s them up a bit and tones down some of the brightness.

WOW - I am in love with your table and chairs. Those chairs are my favorite color in the whole wide world. I swear if I could paint my entire house and everything in it that color I would. So pretty!
I love it!

Wow, that is beautiful!!! That is SO worth the time and effort you spent on that! That is so amazing - I know how much work furniture refinishing is - I am in awe!!! I now have a table top waiting for me to resand and finish, I did it years, and years ago, and the pad that was on it has left a residue behind. I had that on for years, when the kids were growing up, and now I am ready to see the wood again. Wish I had your energy!
And is that little bubble blowing Bayleigh the same little one you had pictures of when she was a newborn? She CAN'T be that old, can she?
Wow - hugs to you from Michigan, Diane

Diane,
Dont let me scare you away from furniture refinishing. If you go into it knowing how much work is involved, it really isnt bad. Just time consuming.
Yes, thats the same Bayleigh. She turned 2 in April and shes growing like a weed!
Have a great day!
