This is what my coffee table used to look like. It was a thrift store find. For $15.00 I got the coffee table and a matching end table. They were a really ugly. I wrote about them here. Click over to see the picture, I'll wait. Ugly, huh? A little paint fixed em up though, and we've enjoyed them for about three years now. Until Mitch sat down on the corner one night and the glass shattered in about 374,000 pieces. It was like an explosion. Glass everywhere. I was so glad that I don't have carpet anymore and that Bayleigh wasn't here. Rather than trying to have a new piece of glass cut, we decided it would be safer if the top was solid anyway.
Mitch cut a piece of plywood to replace the glass and together we upholstered it.
Oh my! pick my chin up off the floor! No kidding, my jaw dropped when I saw the transformation. Make me want to go right out and hunt down an ugly one to fix up, too.
Autum, the new coffee table/ottoman is gorgeous. Way to go, you & Mitch make a great team.
BTW- your pillows look fabulous, too.
Peace.

You sure you didn't score the glass a little so you'd have an excuse to change the table again? :) I love the new look and think it is perfect. Getting new glass for the table would have been *very* expensive. This is a much better option all around.

That is an amazingly creative thing to do! I have seen tables like that at GW, but didn't particularly like the glass part. But now, I might not pass them by! I would love to do this project. THanks for sharing!
Blessings,
