He's an excellent problem solver.
I bought some Ikea drapes for the bay window in the kitchen. I didn't want to pay an arm and leg for special hardware to hang the curtains in the bay window.
So my genius husband suggested using metal electrical conduit (that we already had) and bending it with a pipe bender (that my cousin had).
It took all of about 15 minutes, and most of that was spent measuring to determine where the bends should go.
Darn, he's good.
Bayleigh had to get in on the action.
It looks like handlebars for a giant bicycle.
I hung it from the basketball goal to paint it- looks like I should've painted the goal while I was at it.
I purchased some inexpensive finials and brackets from Lowe's (from the millwork section, not with the curtain hardware) and painted those as well. The finials are meant to be screwed into a wooden pole and our conduit is hollow. No problem.
These corks happen to be a perfect fit for the 3/4 inch conduit.
Yep, I got a pretty good deal when I married that man.
I'm joining Kimba's DIY party again. Don't you think it makes Thursday's more fun?
Awesome! Way to go Mitch! and Bayleigh, too. You guys rock! love, love, love the thriftiness of this project. And it looks so expensive. Your drapes are gorgeous, the fabric is beautiful.
Peace.

We have that exact window arrangement in our dining area, too. Now I know what to do with it! Those curtains are fabulous! I was just at IKEA a few weeks ago and didn't see that print. Perhaps a return trip is in order...
