Bayleigh's first birthday party was this past weekend at her nana and papa's house.
I made her little birthday crown using this tutorial. Nana and papa got her a ball pit that was much bigger than expected, but lots of fun for all the curly haired cutie pies in attendance.
I found the idea for making these favor bags in a magazine, but I don't remember which- Mary Engelbreit Home Companion, perhaps? It was easy, just cut off 3/4 of the green bag, snip around the edges to make some blades of grass, put a little white glue or double stick tape in the bottom before inserting the white bag then glue on a little butterfly. We put some sidewalk chalk, bubbles and a pack of fruit gummies inside.
I've seen the Martha Stewart pompoms around and finally had a reason to give them a try. Fun stuff, decorating for a little girl's birthday party!
I love this caught by the paparazzi shot .
The weather was beautiful, the company was great, it was a delightful time to celebrate a delightful little girl. Our list of blessings just keeps on growing...
She is very lucky to have you all!

OHMYGOSH...what a bunch of CUTE FUN! You outdid yourself, Nana! Love all the photos and that cute little pink "little tikes" car! Our kids only had red ones to choose from...nothing girly at all! I'm so glad you shared this little celebration with us!
So precious.

Autum,
Love the photos of the Princess' 1st birthday! Looks like everyone had fun. The pompoms in the dining room look fabuloso.
BTW, I went to the fabric store last night and looked up your pattern. I gasped out loud when I saw that it's featured on the first page of the Accessories section.
WAY TO GO!!! woo hoo!!!
I wanted to scream out loud, "I know her! My friend designed that bag!". Tee hee. That might have scared the little blue-hair across the table though, so I didn't scream.
Anyway, congratulations again.
Peace.

LOVE that last photo! Gosh, for my two last kids, we just had cupcakes after dinner, no guests. My son had screamed through his entire 1st birthday so I really didn't feel like doing anything again, LOL. Wish you were my kid's grandma; although that'd be pretty weird as you're only 2 years older than me, LOL.

I think it is wonderful that you are able to spend so much time with your granddaughter each day. Both of my parents worked while I was growing up, so my Grannie picked me up after school for all six years of elementary school and what a treat that was for me! She taught me to sew, cook, and craft in all sorts of ways. These are special times for y'all that she will look back on and cherish!
