Angela asked for folks to join her in flashing a room. Not just a corner, but the whole room. This week living rooms, next week dining rooms. My living room is my least favorite public room in the house. (I have 2 teenagers remember, their rooms tie for the absolute least favorite.) The LR is dark and for some reason difficult to decorate in a way that is pleasing to me. Even before the hated red couches, I wasn't happy with this room. Here are a few shots to give you a view from different angles. I wish it looked like this. So clean and fresh and relaxing. Beautifully done, don't you think? Oh well, back to my dark dungeon of a living room, sigh...
Above is a view from the kitchen. Notice the picture on the floor in the corner, need to hang that. That large framed print is just a poster. It's Monet's Purple Poppies. Why are they red? Because my living room isn't purple (craft paint).
The french doors lead to the sewing room.
The above view is standing next to the front door.
There you have it. Now flash yours! I'm off to the beach.
That room looks so warm and cozy! I love the touches of black.

Look at all the light that is shining through the doors! That's no bat cave, sister! (and trust me on this - I *do* live in a bat cave, so I know of what I speak...)
I think this is a beautiful room - and how much do I love that you touched up the Monet! You rock, sweetie!

Autum, what are you talking about? That there is no dungeon! Your living room is quite lovely!!!

I think you've got a great autumn (with th n) room. Rain outside curl up the couch pets around you an d a fire going on. That said I think the colour of the wall could be a bit lighter or cream curtains maybe.. ?
I so need to clean downstairs.. (mum and dad are coming, I don't mind mum but my dad is hororible he never says anything but he spots everything) So I am extra motivated now. Will flash tomorrow!

OOOOOHHHHHH can I pop over the ocean for a cup of tea in that lovely room? or have you put that on to torment me. My LR is full of kitchen contents and not a nice place to sit at present. Hope you had a great beach trip.

What a beautiful room, Autum. I love the fireplace and the paint color. I'm not posting a pic of mine, b/c it would look so horrible compared to all the pretty ones out there. Maybe you can fly out and help me decorate?

Im sorry to hear about Madden! I hope with a lot of prayers that he will be okay. One of our dogs is 15 years old and we fret over her and worry for her a lot! Her name is turnip.Today at Target I saw a puppy that reminded me of Madden. I swear if I didnt work at Target my dream job would be at Petsmart.Im a nurturer through and through! I hope the best! Karen B. P.S. On a recent camping trip my hubby actually broke down in tears wondering where we should bury Turnip when it is her time to leave us.
