I've been away for 5 days. Away from the sewing machine and away from the computer, so I have nothing crafty to share but I'm eager to get some sewing started.
This arrived while I was gone.
From Angela. She was so sweet and offered to send me these cups she had found thrifting. First of all, look at the box. She made the shipping box pretty! Inside that lovely box were the cups, a bowl in the same color family and yummy, yummy fabric! The card says ENJOY. Enjoy I will Angela! Thank you for being such a sweetie.
We had a nice time at the beach. The weather was great, the food was delicious and for the most part the company was wonderful. Casey wasn't feeling well and it puts a little damper on things when everyone doesn't seem to be enjoying themselves. Other than that, it was a terrific trip. I'm not much of a late sleeper, I wake up fairly early. (Usually to take the dogs out) Even so, it takes me a while to come to life, to feel like doing much of anything. This week Mitch and I took the puppy out on the beach every morning to have our coffee and enjoy the sunrise. The beautiful sunrise. Boy was that worth getting up early for.
I'm so glad God gave me this wonderful man to walk through this life with.
Notice the top. I made that one when I was on my smock binge. Simplicity 4589, love this pattern!
You two make a wonderful couple! I'm glad to hear that y'all had such a nice time.

Ooh, love the goodies. And you should have that photo enlarged, frame it, put it somewhere prominent (actually, both photos!). I have that same pattern, it comes out so cute and so comfy.

WOW! What an excellent parcel and your top is adorable. LOVE it. I can't wait to learn how to sew clothes. I'm thinking while I'm visiting my mom this Christmas I'll wrangle her into a lesson or two.

Welcome back! Sounds like a beautiful vacation. I haven't sewn for the past few days either, but I did buy that pattern - the top looks great on you, btw. I'm going to try a run through with tracing paper before I cut into the real fabric. Those are beautiful gifts you received. I hope you get back into the swing of things without too much trouble. That's also a nice picture of you two. :o)

What nice things you got!
It's so nice to hear how happy you are in your marriage. I feel the same way about my guy :)

Three generations of my family used that particular pattern of dishes...which were a give away set at Safeway grocery store in the 1960's. I inherited my grandmom's when she died, and it was our every day set. I still like it!
