I would like to know how many purses my daughter Alyssa has. She is the reason I started making purses and every time I make a new one she wants one just like it. When she saw the quilted style she put in her request for a pink and green one. This is what I made for her today. Notice the daisy?
I found some vinyl table cloths to make pillows for my porch at dollar general for 3 dollars a piece for any size. I got 2 52" x 70" and should be able to cover all the pillows on my porch. I was able to finish four today in about an hour. I love cheap easy projects. Now I can't wait to get some ferns to hang and some flowers in pots. Bring on spring!!!!
Yesterday the UPS man knocked on my door. This isn't unusual since I do a lot of shopping on line but I couldn't think of anything I was expecting. I opened it to see what it was and inside was this.
I knew immediately who had ordered it. My buddy Kelli. She recently used my iron. I don't know what made her think I needed a new one.
One of my cats knocked it off the ironing board and cracked the handle. Kelli said she thought it was a fire hazard and ordered me a shiny new one! You gotta love a friend who will have a rowenta delivered to your door.
Dawn at 4:53 posted this link. Check it out. It is sure to make your heart smile, it did mine. Make sure you have the volume turned up on your speakers.
If anyone is interested in a pillow cover tutorial let me know I'd be happy to post one. It is the easiest project you'll ever do.
I wish someone would give me an appliance I actually need, instead of another one to collect dust -- you're a lucky girl! My latest addition was a quesadilla maker from my mother-in-law. I don't even want to ask why... like the George Forman grill and Smoothie Maker weren't enough! Love the bag, too, by the way. The daisy is the perfect touch!

It looks like you had a productive day! Your tablecloth pillows turned out great. Can you believe that I woke up this morning thinking about this project - where I can use some pillows and chair pads made from tablecloths? I can't wait to start buyign some beddign plants to spruce up my back patio. At the moment my whole yard looks like crap.
The purse for your daughter is so cute! And congrats on the new iron. I have a Rowenta. It has been pretty good, but has suffered some falls from the ironing board, so it isn't in top shape anymore. Take good care of it!

Good lord girl--that is one ugly iron! I use a little vinegar on the iron face plate (when it's cooled) to keep it clean and shiny. Kelli sounds like a doll to send you a new iron-she's a keeper! :-) Bring on the pillow tutorial too!

You have a pretty site (except for that iron!)Thanks for dropping in to mine and even buying my collage.
I like the colours you have chosen for the purse and pillows.

I forgot to check out the link you had here -- I had it saved to my desktop to play the video later and didn't get around to it until now. Made my day!!!! It totally reminds me of when the twins were that size and they would laugh all at once like that. It really makes me appreciate Andrew's big belly laugh! And please do post the pillow tutorial. Always curious to see another method!

Lucky girl! I'm currently ironing with a broken rowenta. -keeps spitting at me-. (dropped too many times..the last one indeed went up in a POOF of smoke) and a new SHARK..not recommended for CRAFT ironing as it keeps turning OFF while I'm using it..but I'm too far from the store to take it back. grrr..

Love that purse you made for your daughter. And the pillows turned out great...yes, please post a tut if it's not too much trouble. My iron looks about like your old one. What is all that black crap anyway? I think mine is from using spray starch once upon a time. Can't get it off. Ugh!
