It seemed the happenin' place to be today. All because a special turkey had something nice to say about my purses on her blog. They say the best advertising is word of mouth. Well I'm here to tell you, word of blog ain't too bad either! I've had more traffic at my blog and etsy site today than I usually have in 4 days! It is so exciting to have so much interest in my purses. Thank you again Vicki! So what did I do today?
I cut and pinned and stitched oh my! The top of the picture is stacks of strips I cut for purses. In the forefront are two purse bodies sewn together waiting to be quilted and to the right are two more pinned waiting to be sewn together. I love all the bright spring colors. The really bright fabric strips in the center of the picture are Lilly Pulitzer prints I bought last summer. I am not into the whole Lilly thing but for some reason purses made with Lilly fabric sell like crazy on ebay. I sold lots of them last summer in this style.
This year I want to make some different styles using the Lilly prints and I am starting with the patchwork purse. I pinned a couple together and used three different prints alternating with a solid or gingham. I think they will do well since they are so different from most other purses being sold on ebay right now.
Look at these goodies!
I asked my aunt for any buttons she didn't want. I want to make the pillow I posted last week with the daffodils made from buttons. She got out her stash and said take all you want. Well you don't have to tell me twice! Have I told you how much I love aqua? Look at those aqua buttons. She must have loved aqua at one time too!
And in the mail.......
A sweet package from the sweet little Doodlebird herself. Tanya made these amazing postcards. She is doing a series of Doodlebird postcards. Her first set sold out. I am glad I got mine! Also in the package was this little Bible Promise Book. It has scripture categorized by things like belief, hope, forgiveness, courage, anger, death, guidance and so on. Tanya is so sweet. She was one of the first people to comment on my blog and she comments almost daily with comments that are always happy, sometimes silly, other times encouraging. Thank you Tanya my blogging friend!
Wow, go you! I lovelovelove all those bright spring colors you're using. I'm sure your patchwork purses will be fabulous.
I got my package in the mail today, thank you so much! You are too sweet ;) I'll have to blog about it later.

I love buttons; used to play with buttons from an old tin of my grandmother's as a kid and each button had a story!

Congratulations on the shout out from Turkey Feather's blog. Isn't it exciting when something like that happens!!!!!!!!! I had an exciting day yesterday too, I got orders (locally) for 4 needle rolls and two bib and burp cloth sets. Being able to make a little money doing something I love is so satisfying.
