As I mentioned in the last post Randi put out the challenge to get real today. Share that spot that is crying out for a little, or a lot, of spring cleaning. For me it's this little shed behind my house. Don't get me wrong, the shed isn't the only thing crying out for a thorough cleaning but I'd have to say it tops the list. It looks innocent enough from the outside.
A sweet little structure, huh? It used to be Alyssa's playhouse and was actually built on another area of our yard. When she got too big to play in the playhouse I convinced Mitch it would make a wonderful potting shed and storage building for pool chemicals and toys. So he jacked the shed up off it's foundation and a man with a flatbed tow truck came and moved it to its current location. Have you seen gardening magazines with quaint little garden sheds? You know the kind, pretty clay pots stacked on shelves, gardening tools hanging from hooks. There may even be a comfy chair to relax and enjoy a book. Isn't that a lovely image? Well, this ain't that kind of shed. Are you ready?
I am scared to open that door. Seriously. It has so much stuff stacked and piled and it's very likely there are mice in there. I'm only going to take pictures from outside with the door open. I'm not going in.
See the floor? Me neither. I'm sure it's there somewhere but I'm not going to find it today.
I'm standing outside the door taking these pictures. The mess comes right up to the door and threatens to fall out. I'm closing the door and going back inside now. That's enough reality for one day.
