I've been tagged in a game of freezer tag. Bonnie asked me to flash my freezer. At first I was a little shocked. Bonnie, I hardly know you. You've never even taken me to dinner and you want me to reveal my breast and thighs? (chicken of course) But I decided why not? I'll play along. Along with a picture I'm supposed to reveal my best surprise, my worst surprise and the oldest item. Here goes...
I have side by side refrigerator with a small and rather useless freezer so I also have a freezer in the garage. The top two pictures are the garage freezer where I found what I hope is the oldest item. I am ashamed to admit it. Bonnie, do I have to?? (Heavy sigh) On the top shelf there you see a pink box with a Carvel Ice cream cake. It was from Alyssa's 16th birthday. She'll be 19 in October. Why do we still have what's left of that cake? Your guess is as good as mine. The best surprise was finding some sandwich meat that we can take to the beach tomorrow. The worst surprise was a Tupperware bowl of ?? I think stew beef with rice. It was way in the back under some frozen vegetables. I don't remember how long it's been there so it may qualify for the oldest item too. Now I'm so ashamed. Other than that nothing too exciting. Some ice cream, frozen vegetables, a few meats, garlic bread, pecans, grits (for those of you wondering what grits are go here, a really fun post but be sure to read the comments) and as you can see in that upper right picture a door full of ice-packs. Why do I have so many ice-packs you ask? I don't know what to do with them. I take a weekly shot for rheumatoid arthritis and the med comes fed ex packed with these things. I can't just throw them out. I doubt that stuff inside them is biodegradable. I've given lots of them away and still I have a freezer door full of 'em. OK Bonnie, you've been flashed. If you want to play along consider yourself tagged.
I missed gratitude Friday yesterday, so a day late here's a little list of things making me happy this week:
- That hard working man of mine
- Listening to the 70's music channel on Mitch's satellite radio while floating in the pool (yes, I spent a day this week being completely useless and I loved it)
- Thinking about spending 5 days at the beach next week
- 5 days of sun on my nose and sand between my toes
- 3 new magazines and two new books to take with me for those 5 days of sun and sand.
Have a great weekend! See ya next Friday.
