Alyssa has never shown an interest in sewing. I was the same way at her age. When I was first married I wouldn't even sew a button on for my husband. He has hemmed his own pants because I told him I hated sewing. At that time we had a tiny cookie tin with a few spools of thread and a pack of needles and a button or two and that was our sewing kit. Boy has that changed. Now I love to sew. I have wanted Alyssa to have a desire to learn so we could sew together but she never wanted to. Today I convinced her to give it a try. I think she was just scared she wouldn't be able to do it. Turns out she's a natural. We started with something small and straight forward, a travel tissue holder. Here she is. Look at my little girl sewing for the first time. I am beaming with pride! That's my girl!
