It was hot here in NC yesterday, about 85 degrees and today is going to be the same. We had such a mild winter I wonder if we are skipping spring. It was such a beautiful day and what did I do? Enjoy the sunshine? No I sewed all day. All day Saturday and except for going to church and Sunday lunch at my aunt Mary's all day yesterday. By the end of the day I was beginning to wonder if it was time wasted. Saturday I started off finishing these cute spring bags for Leanne. I am happy with the way they turned out. I just love this blue paisley fabric.
Leanne's etsy shop is called Lavender and Peonies, and she wanted a purse that had shades of purple pink and green.
I used less pink than I had originally planned but I like the lavender and green combination. When I tried to add the pink ribbon it looked too much like an Easter egg. The striped ribbon has pink and the interior pocket is a pink and green paisley print. I hope she'll like them.
Then I made patchwork purses. Once I start on these things I can't stop myself. I am addicted to choosing the fabric combinations and seeing how they come together. Like I was saying by the end of last night I was wondering if my time could have been better spent doing something else. I listed these on ebay last week and they went unsold.
Ebay is so fickle. I never know what will and won't sell from one time to the next. Not knowing that these would get no interest I busily made these. And have three more pieced and ready to be quilted.
I need to photograph this one in daylight. It is my favorite, very soft and romantic and I don't think the photograph does it justice.
Recognize these fabrics? I used the crate and barrel dishtowels and I know you know the bike print.
More crate and barrel dishtowels and the Sis Boom print from Sew Mama Sew.
Well I listed them in my etsy shop. It isn't time limited like ebay. If they don't sell I guess I'll just have a different purse for every day of the week.
