My friend Kelli likes to redecorate almost as much as I do and gets the itch to change something nearly as often as I. This time it is her daughter Emili's room. She painted the room apple green yesterday. While she was painting she called me to say OK I am painting, you need to start sewing. Emili needs a curtain, a pillow and a cover for her vanity chair and a hamper. What? What kind of cover for her chair? A hamper? What do you mean a hamper? Just a little slip cover. You know, a little cover for the back and a little skirt. It'll be easy. The hamper is just a box thing. A cloth box with a bottom and tabs at the top to attach to a wooden frame. It'll be easy. Easy. That is what she says about everything. Oh that will be easy to make. Just sew up the sides and the bottom. No problem at all. You can use the old one for a pattern. Kelli has more faith in my sewing abilities than I do. So today she came over with her chair and her hamper and we went to work. The chair had been Emili's desk chair. Kelli wanted a low back vanity chair with a skirted slip cover. Her husband Norman cut the back down on the chair. Here is the chair before.
And here it is with the new slipcover. I have never attempted anything like this but Kelli and I were pleased with the results. I think Emili will be too.
Here is a picture of Kelli modeling the chair and pillow. Look at how pretty Kelli is. How sweet she looks. This is before I told her I was going to post it on my blog.
Don't let her fool you because this is the only picture I could get after.
That's not nice Kelli!!But isn't the pillow cute?
